ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ രചനകൾ ഡിജിറ്റൈസ് ചെയ്യുന്നു

സംസ്‌കൃത ഭാഷയ്ക്കും ന്യായശാസ്ത്ര പഠനത്തിനും വലിയ സംഭാവനകൾ നൽകിയ പ്രശസ്ത സംസ്കൃതപണ്ഡിതയും അദ്ധ്യാപികയുമായിരുന്ന ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവി (30 നവംബർ 1946 – 24 ഫെബ്രുവരി 2021) യുടെ രചനകൾ ഡിജിറ്റൈസ് ചെയ്ത് ഗ്രന്ഥപ്പുരയിലൂടെ റിലീസ് ചെയ്യുന്ന പദ്ധതി Indic Digital Archive Foundation ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു.

തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ സർക്കാർ പാലസ് ഗേൾസ് ഹൈസ്കൂളിലായിരുന്നു ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം. തുടർന്ന് തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ സംസ്കൃത കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ന്യായശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദവും, കാലിക്കറ്റ് സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്ന് പി.എച്ച്.ഡി.യും നേടി. പട്ടാമ്പി സംസ്കൃത കോളേജിൽ അദ്ധ്യാപികയായി അവർ തൻ്റെ ഔദ്യോഗിക ജീവിതം ആരംഭിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് തൃശ്ശൂർ ശ്രീ കേരളവർമ്മ കോളേജിലേക്ക് മാറിയ അവർ അവിടെ നീണ്ട 23 വർഷക്കാലം വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് 1996-ൽ കാലടി ശ്രീ ശങ്കരാചാര്യ സംസ്കൃത സർവകലാശാലയിലെ ന്യായ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പ്രൊഫസറായും പിന്നീട് അവിടുത്തെ സംസ്കൃതവിഭാഗ മേധാവിയായും അവർ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

ലളിതവും ശാസ്ത്രീയവുമായ രീതിയിൽ എഴുതപ്പെട്ട ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ സംസ്കൃത പഠനത്തിന് വലിയ സഹായമായിരുന്നു. മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ഏറെ പ്രയാസമുള്ള തത്വശാസ്ത്ര വിഷയങ്ങളെ സാധാരണക്കാർക്ക് പോലും എളുപ്പത്തിൽ വായിച്ചറിയാൻ പാകത്തിലാണ് അവർ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാക്കിയിരുന്നത്. ശബ്ദപ്രമാണ വിചാരം (1997), ന്യായശാസ്ത്ര പ്രവേശിക (2005), തർക്കസംഗ്രഹ ദീപിക (2009), ന്യായദർശനം (2014), അർത്ഥസംഗ്രഹം (2014), മുക്താവലിസാരം - പ്രത്യക്ഷഖണ്ഡം (2020), ഋഗ്വേദ പ്രാതിശാഖ്യം (2021) എന്നിവയാണ് അവരുടെ പ്രധാന കൃതികൾ. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ സംസ്കൃത പഠനശാഖയിൽ ഈ കൃതികൾക്ക് വലിയ സ്ഥാനമുണ്ട്.

ഭാരതീയ ദർശനങ്ങളിലെ അതിസങ്കീർണ്ണമായ ന്യായ–വൈശേഷിക ശാഖകളിൽ ടി. ആര്യാദേവി നടത്തിയ ആഴത്തിലുള്ള പഠനങ്ങളും ഗവേഷണങ്ങളും അനേകം വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കും ഗവേഷകർക്കും ഇന്നും വഴിവിളക്കായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.

സംസ്കൃത ഭാഷയ്ക്കും ഭാരതീയ ദർശനങ്ങൾക്കും നൽകിയ വലിയ സംഭാവനകളെ മുൻനിർത്തി നിരവധി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ അവരെ തേടിയെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കലിയത്ത് പരമേശ്വര ഭാരതി സ്മാരക സ്വർണ്ണപതക്കം (2007), പരീക്ഷിത് തമ്പുരാൻ അവാർഡ് (2012), ഏഴിക്കോട് പരമേശ്വരൻ നമ്പൂതിരി സ്മാരക അവാർഡ് (2014), കടവല്ലൂർ അന്യോന്യ പരിഷത്ത് വാചസ്പതി അവാർഡ് (2016), കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമിയുടെ കെ. ആർ. രാമൻ നമ്പൂതിരി എൻഡോവ്മെൻ്റ് അവാർഡ് (2016), ഒ.കെ. മുൻഷി അവാർഡ് (2019), ഒ.എം.സി. നാരായണൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെ സ്മരണാർത്ഥമുള്ള ദേവീപ്രസാദം ട്രസ്റ്റ് അവാർഡ് (2020) എന്നിവ ഇതിൽ ചിലതുമാത്രമാണ്. അവരുടെ അറിവിനും കഠിനാധ്വാനത്തിനും ലഭിച്ച വലിയ അംഗീകാരങ്ങളായിരുന്നു ഈ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങളെല്ലാം.

ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ ഓർമ്മയ്ക്കായി ന്യായശാസ്ത്ര പഠനത്തെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വാർഷിക സ്മാരക പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങൾ ഇന്നും നടത്തിവരുന്നുണ്ട്.

നിലവിൽ പലയിടങ്ങളിലായി ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്ന ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ വിലപ്പെട്ട ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളും ലേഖനങ്ങളും മറ്റ് അക്കാദമിക് രേഖകളും കൃത്യമായി സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനൊപ്പം ഡിജിറ്റൈസ് ചെയ്യുക കൂടിയാണ് വരുംതലമുറയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഇനി ചെയ്യാനുള്ളത്. അതിൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഈ പദ്ധതി ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ വിജ്ഞാന പാരമ്പര്യം ഭാവിയിലെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കും ഗവേഷകർക്കും ഒരുപോലെ ലഭ്യമാക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഈ ഡിജിറ്റൈസെഷൻ പദ്ധതിയുടെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യം. ഈ ഡിജിറ്റൈസേഷൻ പദ്ധതിക്കായി മുൻകൈ എടുത്ത് അതിനായുള്ള ചർച്ചകൾക്ക് തുടക്കമിട്ടത് ഡോ. ടി. ആര്യാദേവിയുടെ മകളുടെ ഭർത്താവായ നവീൻ മാവേലി ആണ്. മക്കളായ സ്മിത വി. നീലകണ്ഠൻ, സന്ദീപ് വി. നീലകണ്ഠൻ എന്നിവരും സഹകരിച്ചു. എല്ലാവർക്കും നന്ദി.

Dr. T. Aryadevi Digitization and Preservation Project

Dr. T. Aryadevi (30 November 1946 – 24 February 2021) was an eminent Sanskrit scholar, teacher, and author whose lifelong dedication to Nyāya (Indian logic) and classical Sanskrit enriched generations of students and researchers. A distinguished authority in Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika philosophy, she made significant contributions to the preservation, interpretation, and teaching of India’s intellectual traditions.

Biography & Academic Career

Dr. Aryadevi received her primary education from Thrippunithura Government Palace Girls High School. She later pursued higher studies in Sanskrit and completed her Postgraduate degree (P.G.) in Nyāyaśāstra from Thrippunithura Sanskrit College. She subsequently earned her Ph.D. in Nyāyaśāstra from the University of Calicut.

She began her academic career at Pattambi Sanskrit College and then moved to Sree Kerala Varma College, where she served in the Sanskrit Department for 23 years. In 1996, she joined the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, where she served as Professor and later Head of the Department of Nyāya. In this role, she guided advanced research in Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika philosophy and contributed significantly to academic studies in Indian logic, epistemology, and interdisciplinary applications.

Today, many of her books, manuscripts, lecture notes, correspondence, and academic writings remain scattered across personal collections, libraries, and out-of-print sources. Preserving these materials is essential to safeguarding her scholarly legacy and ensuring continued access for future generations.

The Dr. T. Aryadevi Digitization and Preservation Project seeks to collect, digitize, preserve, and make publicly accessible her works and related archival materials using modern archival standards. The project aims to establish a permanent digital repository to support research and teaching in Sanskrit, Nyāya, and Indian philosophy.

This initiative is dedicated to honoring her life and scholarly contributions and ensuring that her intellectual legacy remains accessible to scholars, students, and the wider public for generations to come.
